Lelit Bianca V3 Overview

For the newest iteration of the Bianca line of espresso machines, the experts at Lelit have once again impressed with the Bianca V3. Maple wood accents adorn this Italian-made dual boiler machine, while a powder coated matte black stainless steel frame results in a visually appealing appearance. While the 1.5L steam boiler and 800mL brew boiler are made of stainless steel and insulated for more stable temperatures, rapid heat up times, and simultaneous brewing and steaming.

Features and Performance

Flow control functionality comes standard via Lelit’s patented rotating flow control paddle, while the option for a low flow mode that simulates flow profiles without having to move the paddle. With the paddle rotated all the way to the right, it will allow the max amount of water to flow, which averages between 6-7 ml/s. Rotating the paddle all the way to the left will effectively halt water flow, so rotating the paddle between the two extremes is encouraged to find the ideal flow rate.

The included PID has a digital OLED display and offers customization of settings like brew temperature offset and pre-infusion. Temperature customization comes via the brew temperature offset setting, which allows for temperature adjustments while brewing, while pre-infusion time can be set to the exact number of seconds you would like the pump to run to wet the ground coffee in your portafilter, and then the exact number you would like the pump to turn off to allow the coffee to percolate through the grounds before the brewing process begins.

Additionally, the machine can be run with the included 2.5L water reservoir, or can be plumbed in directly to a water line. A truly unique aspect of this setup is that the water reservoir can be moved to any of the side or back panels to suit your spacing needs. The included anti-burn steam and hot water wands are multidirectional so they can accommodate just about any cup or mug size, and operated by responsive and tactile knobs with spring closure. External pressure gauges for steam, the pump, and group head and also included.
